Important results from the project

The main goal of the project was for Ligna Energy and GPBM France to design in Lignas S-Power in two specific IoT sensor applications. Three demonstrators have been manufactured and tested at a customers - proving that green maintenance-free power supply of sensors is possible and makes a significant difference in boosting IoT growth. The S-Power family expanded with a minimum size variant. Valuable customer relationships developed and agreements for commercial collaboration was signed.

Expected long term effects

The project is a crucial base for Lignas upscaling journey, adding technical knowledge and a commercial maturity as a solid base for the ongoing growth. We have connected to customers directly related to the project. We own working system designs (sensor devices) in BEN and GWEN, already sold to customers. The developed a knowledge library for electronics design shortens the customer lead time. It enables Ligna Energy to grow towards profit. And will contribute to a better and greener planet!

Approach and implementation

The key was active teamcollaboration between Ligna Energy and GPBM France combining knowledge of industrial battery applications with new technology for "Ambient IoT". Work was carried out according to plan in Work Packages with the core of developing, testing, evaluating prototypes in collaboration with selected customers. We agreed to work iteratively with parallel applications/customers. Team collaboration has been ensured through regular web meetings interspersed with physical meetings.
