Important results from the project
The aim of the project has been to develop an operational solution aimed at real-time solutions for fast mapping with drones. In the project, we have shown that it is possible by producing simpler 3D products in real time from streamed video from great distances. With that, the goal of developing and distributing products and services in an effective way regardless of where one is, in the field or in another location, has been fulfilled.
Expected long term effects
In the project, we have developed a platform where we can show fast and efficient production of maps and 3D products in real time. This can streamline and speed up work significantly in time-critical situations. Via link, interested parties can quickly form an idea of an area and objects can be identified, measured and mapped.
Approach and implementation
The project has been part of a larger Eurostar project in which AnsuR and I-CONIC are included partners. ICONIC has been responsible for defining requirements, reception of video stream, 3D modeling, measurement functionality, etc. AnsuR is responsible for streaming video and metadata, artificially enhanced resolution, identification and extraction of moving objects, distribution, integration, testing and productization. The collaboration has worked well with straight and clear communication and we plan for continued joint activities.
