Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The purpose of the project was to develop a medical device for the treatment of migraines in home care. The product, with the name proposal CoolHead, is based on BrainCool´s product concept RhinoChill, a CE-marked product for hypothermia treatment and migraine treatment in hospitals. The cooling method for migraine patients is patented and has shown positive effects. However, the equipment is currently unmanageable and too expensive for commercial use.
Approach and implementation

This focuses on user-friendliness and evaluation of how the patient experiences treatment with CoolHead (Usability study). The main focus is thus to start from a hospital-based product and develop a new product adapted for home care. The clinical benefit is evaluated in two studies (Multi-center study) which will form the basis for regulatory approvals.
