Important results from the project
The project has created mDAM a smaller system for collecting images and laser data over power lines and this data has been integrated into Visimind´s analysis system and presentation tools on the web and desktop. The system has been used in several smaller project and will now be used on drones in a larger project this summer.
Expected long term effects
Several procurements in several countries are now moving data acquistion of images and laser data from helicopters to drones. This is due to several factors, primarily environmental considerations but also risks of personal injury and probably within a couple of years also financal. Drones with the mDAM system are also expected to be more flexible and can be used in more situations than before with helicopters.
Approach and implementation
The setup has gone according to plan, however, Corona has limited opportunities to test mDAM on place in Norway and several local tests have been done instead. Corona also delayed the project.
