Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project is to develop and demonstrate how recyclable RFID tags can be integrated into Yangi’s dry-formed fibre packaging. Yangi focuses on material, process and packaging development, as well as integration into the Cellera platform. RISE contributes expertise in printed electronics, materials, recycling, LCA and regulatory requirements to ensure functionality, circularity and industrial relevance.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to result in a verified method for integrating recyclable RFID tags into dry-formed fibre packaging, as well as a demonstrated pilot solution in Cellera. The results will provide increased knowledge of material performance, recyclability, environmental impact and regulatory requirements. For Yangi, the project will create a new functional offering in traceable and recyclable packaging.
Planned approach and implementation
Yangi develops the packaging solution and integration method, builds and tests the pilot solution in Cellera, and evaluates material and product performance. RISE supports the integration with expertise in printed electronics and carries out LCA, recyclability testing, and analysis of regulatory and safety-related issues. The work is carried out iteratively through development, testing, optimisation and final system validation.
