Venture Strategic Innovation Program Drive Sweden

Purpose and goal

The goal of DriveX Singapore was to export the Swedish innovation model for smart mobility to Singapore to create better conditions for sustainable mobility there as well, and at the same time generate business benefits for Swedish companies and other organizations. These objectives were realized by a wide margin through a series of activities in Singapore during the fall of 2019.

Expected results and effects

The project resulted in, among other things: - an MoU between the Swedish Transport Administration and its Singaporean counterpart, LTA - increased understanding of the importance of cross-functional cooperation and data sharing in the approx. 10 local organizations we met with separately - very good global exposure of participating Swedish companies at the ITS World Congress held in Singapore in October 2019 - a series of project proposals for continued bilateral cooperation - new business contacts between Swedish and Singaporean companies

Planned approach and implementation

In addition to coordinating all activities at home, three visits were made to Singapore. At the first of these, a working group of project participants met 10 local actors to present the Swedish model and to discuss continued cooperation. The second visit focused entirely on the week around ITS World Congress, where we had a joint exhibition stand and conducted a number of seminars at, and in connection with, the congress. The last activity consisted of a workshop between Swedish and local actors to define suitable collaborative projects.
