Purpose and goal

Drive Sweden´s aim is to gather relevant actors to jointly create the future sustainable and safe mobility for people and goods, based on connected, shared and increasingly self-driving vehicles. During the initial three-year program, the program delivered on this objective by collecting an unexpected width of actors who share our vision. We have facilitated about 35 projects contributing to the target vision, and substantially elevated awareness of the possibilities of future mobility, not only in Sweden but also globally.

Expected results and effects

As for all SIPs, the goal for the first few years is to establish itself centrally in the current ecosystem and to take the lead in the innovation work within the domain. With reference to e.g. - a greatly increased and broadened partnership, including many global actors - successful communicative efforts with conferences, newsletters, etc. - implementation of more than 30 projects - the establishment of a program structure with well-defined thematic areas - the involvement of the public in various demonstration projects, we consider the objectives of the period as well-achieved.

Planned approach and implementation

The Program Director together with a Program Office of 15 people, each with a specific responsibility, have been the central operational resource, with the Program Board as its oversight committee. The Board is elected in a transparent process open to all partners. The program has been divided into more general program activities such as conferences, business intelligence, comms, etc and initiation of financed projects. The projects have been strategically selected from within the program, or results of the program´s open calls, where program management have set the framework.
