Purpose and goal
DP-BRIDGE deepens the collaboration between DPella (Sweden) and OpenDP at Harvard (USA) on differential privacy (DP) for health data. DP gives mathematical, auditable privacy guarantees when statistics are shared. The partners will create a strategic agenda, analyse regulation (EHDS, HIPAA, EU AI Act), assess technical gaps using DPella´s AI-agent demonstrator and draw up a roadmap for continued collaboration, building European competence in trustworthy, AI-ready health data.
Expected effects and result
The project delivers a joint strategic agenda, a regulatory analysis of DP for health data (EHDS, HIPAA, EU AI Act), a technical gap analysis, and a roadmap with financing mapping for continued collaboration. The effect is a lasting Sweden–US partnership that strengthens European competence and digital sovereignty in DP, and lays the foundation for innovation that makes privacy-protected health statistics accessible to clinicians and researchers.
Planned approach and implementation
The project runs from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027, led by DPella with OpenDP (Harvard) as an in-kind collaborating partner. Work is organized in five work packages: project management with a joint steering group, strategic agenda and regulatory analysis, technical assessment based on DPella´s demonstrator, a visit to OpenDP at Harvard University, and a strategic roadmap for continued collaboration. No real patient data is processed; the demonstrator uses synthetic or public data.
