Purpose and goal
Prepare for Horizon-proposal funding transnational pilot study and implementation of digital twins in rural areas.
Specific sub-objectives:
- Map stakeholder needs, identify actors and design use cases for digital twins in rural contexts.
- Define technical and organizational eligibility requirements for interoperable and scalable digital twin platforms.
- Design a model that promotes and enables collaboration between project partners and stakeholders in the implementation.
Expected effects and result
Established consortium in Sweden that collaborates with prospective project partners in Serbia, the Netherlands and Greece, the result of which is a joint proposal submitted in September 2025. Challenges identified and cases have been specified and developed as a basis for implementation in Horizon projects.
Planned approach and implementation
Two work packages, one focusing on coordination and writing of proposal together with other European partners, a second focusing on establishing other Swedish partners and investigating technology and subject area specific definitions, opportunities and challenges.
