Purpose and goal
The UCLA students were assigned with the task of crafting a US market strategy for Dirac. The results were however of little or no value since the recommendations were based on a the B2C market rather than the B2B market. If the project plan would have provided room for the company to confirm their market hypotheses in an early stage, this could have been easily rectified.
Expected results and effects
The result, a very simplified business plan with a number of obvious errors, was far below expectations.
Planned approach and implementation
We have communicated to UCLA how mistakes such as this could be avoided by having an early confirmation or rejection/modification of market assumptions and hypotheses.
