Important results from the project
DWA moved from focusing on individual tech solutions at the product level to focusing on system lock-ins that are rooted in the public sector market conditions. R&D have to take as a starting point in for example, the LoU for how to later procure the product. There is a lack of industry standards for quality for a digital health service, which results in a significant waste of resources. Companies creating solutions in the public sector have a lack of knowledge of the organisations´ term.
Expected long term effects
DigitalWell Arena contributes to creating results in both health and growth and is linked to regional strategies and the mission for smart specialization. Innovation-supporting actors have developed their ability to support companies in their interaction with the public sector. At the end of the project, national authorities have access to the new methods and knowledge. More residents and professions have access to digital health services that are quality-assured, relevant and safe to use.
Approach and implementation
DWA clarified the organization and went from 6 areas of operation to 4 focus areas and a decentralized governance model to give more responsibility to act based on substantive issues and knowledge in the ecosystem. Each area now has a designated person in charge, its own portfolio, and its own steering groups. With the clear focus that has developed around the initiative´s 4 focus areas, the environment has developed into an amplifier of actors´ own initiatives based on their needs.
