Coordinator Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan - Integrated Transport Research Lab (ITRL)
Funding from Vinnova SEK 593 750
Project duration October 2019 - December 2020
Status Completed
Venture Strategic Innovation Program Drive Sweden

Purpose and goal

The main goal of the project was to contribute towards sustainable logistics by exploiting the commonalities and bridging the gap between different kind of logistics chains and processes. In addition the goals was also to evaluate the possibility of a bigger pilot project i.e. phase 2. We have not only identified the areas to work with in a bigger project but also laid the foundation of the architecture for the system to be developed in phase 2.

Expected results and effects

The following are the results of the project: 1. A detailed description of process from 3 different logistic chain, pains and gains as well as the points where missing data is a hindrance. 2. A detailed data model from different viewpoints, sequence of operation etc. were also modeled. The model can later be utilized to develop a common digital service for three supply chains. 3. Several research questions and applications suitable for development as demo during phase 2 were also identified and documented.

Planned approach and implementation

The work was divided into 3 work packages namely 1. Analysis of supply value chain. 2. Technical specification, architecture and data structure. 3. Planning for phase 2 of the project. As mentioned above the required results have been achieved. However, the complexity and scientific novelty varies from one case to another identified for phase 2.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
