Purpose and goal

The aim of this project to investigate the possibilities to develop and implement digitalized leanbords with the goal to create a better overview and effectively support the improvements has reached up to and exceeded our expectations. The project has shown that digitalized leanbords can keep the simplicity of the analog method and at the same time add the digital technology advantages to effectively support the improvements on different levels in the organization.

Results and expected effects

The result shows that digitalized leanbords provides increased availability when a digital post-it can be written and send to the leanboard from all computers, it also increase the possibilities to exchange information and in an easy way follow up the improvement work when the system is available and open for all employees. The digital board also makes it possible and easy to aggregate the improvements on different levels in the organization.

Approach and implementation

The project has used the PDSA model with an identification of present work and a development of a prototype for pilot test and evaluation in two units. The evaluation has been the basis for a further decision for an establish phase. Through a close cooperation with the units, daily support from the IT-unit and the possibilities to test the prototype the project has in a shortly time gone from idea to a create a platform for further development.
