Digitalization of transport chains

Reference number
Coordinator LINDHOLMEN SCIENCE PARK AKTIEBOLAG - CLOSER
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 420 000
Project duration March 2017 - December 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The initial aim of the project was to result in an actual service, to be deployed in collaboration with Bring SCM, Unifaun and IBM. To some extent, the aim has been achieved, through tests and a completed pilot together with Bring SCM and Kullahalvöns Vingård. An app that provides the transparency of the supply chain for wine is available for download in Google Play under the name "ReLog".

Expected results and effects

Following the pilot together with Bring SCM, the physical result from the project is a pilot together with Kullahalvöns Vingård, due to changes in the project constellation as Bring SCM got acquired by a new owner. The developed solution is deployed in a simpler form than initially planned for, and is up and running for Kullahalvöns Vingård, available for download on Google Play. Tests revealed that simpler technical problems such as label stickers and missing ID on the cartons makes transparency much more time consuming than the producer had anticipated.

Planned approach and implementation

Several tests have been carried out with a rudimentary prototype together with Bring SCM, for their transport flow carried out for Orkla to a large, unnamed customer, as well as with Kullahalvöns Vingård and their products on Systembolaget. There have been several meetings carried out with programmers and system architects at Cybercom, IBM and Unifaun. Furthermore, the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation has contributed to the results with ongoing work regarding environmental labeling of transports. BTF has contributed with expertise within the haulage industry.
