Project duration December 2018 - August 2019
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

Digitalisation enables real-time feedback at physical activity, for high precision in adapting to each individual for effective and pleasurable workouts. The goal has been to start building a sustainable innovation environment by creating a strong constellation, becoming a part of an international innovation system, developing tools for rapid deployment and scaling up of solutions and take the first steps towards a testbed that as a meeting place and Innovation Arena. All four parts have been successfully implemented.

Expected results and effects

A constellation has been built up with actors from public and nonprofit sectors, research and business. The basis is the transfer potential between different users that the project has demonstrated, which also drives the continued joint work for a testbed. The international cooperation in an Accelerator for Sport Tech start-ups will be the basis for a strategy for international events that can also contribute to Stockholm´s attractiveness as innovation arena. A first platform for rapid deployment and scaling up of new solutions has been tested and will now be further developed.

Planned approach and implementation

Each of the sub-projects have had their own steering groups with relevant stakeholders and their own operational management. Each team has chosen its way of working, that has varied from traditional project managment to agile innovation methodology with sprints. Different cultures have been crossed in the teams demanding awareness and openness. The need for resources was underestimated, especially for one of the sub-projects. This caused problems and called for action to redistribute resources from other tasks to the project. However, the time plans have still been held broadly.
