Purpose and goal
DTCC 2 advances digital twin technology to tackle urban challenges, creating sustainable, intelligent cities. It fosters collaboration between municipalities, industry, and academia to bridge research and real-world applications. The goal is to establish Sweden as a leader in digital twin adoption by 2030, developing open, federated platforms that enable data integration, simulation, and decision-support tools for urban planning and management.
Expected effects and result
DTCC 2 will deliver cutting-edge research, industry partnerships, and practical tools to drive digital twin adoption. Open-source platforms will enhance data integration, simulation, and AI-powered automation, making digital twins more accessible for municipalities. By supporting PhD research, workshops, and public-private collaboration, DTCC 2 will strengthen Sweden’s role in digital twin innovation, improving urban sustainability, efficiency, and citizen well-being.
Planned approach and implementation
DTCC 2 focuses on co-creation, knowledge transfer, and user adoption through PhD projects, industry collaboration, and training workshops. It integrates digital twins with initiatives like Virtual Gothenburg Lab, ensuring real-world testing. By leveraging AI for data automation and developing federated infrastructures, DTCC 2 fosters interoperability and engagement. Regular seminars, research dissemination, and open-source tools will drive widespread implementation.
