Important results from the project

The feasibility study has fulfilled the objective set at the start. We have deepened the needs analysis, mapped relevant test beds, conducted strategic analysis and specified the concept, structure and content for Digital 5G/6G Arena Sweden. The basis for mobilization for implementation projects has been developed. The project has also strengthened the actor network, and several leading actors are now ready to move forward with a joint proposal.

Expected long term effects

In the long term, the initiative is expected to strengthen Sweden´s competitiveness through faster development and introduction of advanced 5G/6G-based solutions. Digital Arena Sweden can drive a systemic change in how actors collaborate, resources are coordinated and solutions are scaled up. The arena can profile Sweden as an international node for testing and experimentation, attract investments and spread solutions globally.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out with the goal of developing a plan for a world-leading Swedish test arena for digital infrastructure and mobilizing the right actors. The work included needs analysis, mapping of testbeds, technical structure, business model, and mobilization of consortium. The arrangement with steering group, reference group, and targeted dialogues worked well; some activities were adjusted and external coordination required flexibility, but the schedule could mainly be followed.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
