Purpose and goal

The project´s purpose is to develop and demonstrate a new design logic for digital and flexible internal logistics, enabling cost-effective handling of highly variable forward and remanufacturing flows without compromising operational performance. Its aim is threefold: to enable high variability of forward and circular production flows, enable industrial transition within existing production systems, and redefine the design logic of internal logistics systems for mixed and circular production.

Expected effects and result

DECIDE develops and validates digital and flexible internal logistics for mixed ICE/EV production and remanufacturing. It identifies industrial requirements, develops digital decision and data enablers, establishes design principles and operational logic, and demonstrates solutions in industrial environments. Expected effects include improved visibility, traceability, resilience, resource efficiency, circular material flows, reduced emissions, and scalable low-carbon manufacturing.

Planned approach and implementation

Planned approach and implementation include work packages for: 1) Project Coordination, 2) Industrial Requirements and Use Cases, 3) Digital Decision and Data Enablers, 4) Design Principles and Operational Logic for Flexible Internal Logistics, 5) Operational Logic for Flexible Remanufacturing Flows, 6) System-Level Demonstration and Validation, and 7) Dissemination. Developed results go from early-stage concept (TRL 3) to its demonstration in an industrial relevant environment (TRL 6).
