Purpose and goal

The purpose of DigiDIY was to show that it does not have to be difficult to get started with digitalization, to show the possibilities of new tech and to show the results of the work we have done within the subject. The goal was to reach at least 50 different organizations and inspire and demonstrate good examples of the possibilities of digitalization. In total, visitors from about 100 different organizations came to the activities and the kit has been downloaded by over 230 different organizations. The evaluation showed that most people who took part of the material were very satisfied.

Expected results and effects

The result of the project was six well-attended breakfast seminars, a hackathon and an appreciated do-it-yourself kit for digitalization. The kit is free to download and we ourselves and our colleagues will use the kit in future projects. Based on the discussions we have had with the participants of the seminars and those who answered the evaluation survey, we can see that most participating organizations see the benefit of the material and will use it in their digitalization work in some way.

Planned approach and implementation

The original plan was to organize the breakfast seminars and work on the kit in parallel. However, we quickly realized that because the seminars were largely based on the contents of the kit, it was better to first finish the kit and then arrange the seminars. We arranged three different seminars and each seminar was held in both Västerås and Norrbotten. In order to reach out to more people, we chose to put the breakfast seminars in the Norrbotten series in different locations. This was successful with many visitors to each event.
