Venture Innovation management - contribute to the use of knowledge for increased innovation capability

Purpose and goal

The main purpose of the project was achieved. That was to develop and test an innovative methodology that would facilitate a cross-functional and cross-sector collaboration, engaging employees with non-technical backgrounds, with the aim of developing a more holistic perspective on the possibilities and challenges of digital transformation and integration of technologies, such as AI, IoT and VR into the future of work. The purpose was to shift the focus from technology and optimization towards using digitalization to create a more human and innovative workplace.

Expected results and effects

The project result was an innovative methodology for exploring future scenarios about humanizing digitalized workplace which was tested in partner organizations and productified for further dissemination and commercialization through a deck of speculative fiction cards with instructions called “Specularities”. The knowledge on future of work created in the project was disseminated through a series of workshops, public events, artistic exhibition, pop-songs, 14 speculative fictions stories created by project participants and two academic publications.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was implemented according to the project plan, starting with a kick-off workshop, and followed by 3 cycles of activities, each consisting of 1) 2-day interdisciplinary lab, 2) creative workshop where methods and knowledge from the lab were spread to more participants from partner organizations, and 3) public event for dissemination of project knowledge to the wider public. There was also an evaluation workshop with partners and other follow-up activities, such as writing academic articles, and new research project applications.
