Purpose and goal

The goals set forth in the beginning of the project has been met to a very high degree. We received the information we asked for regarding if, when and how an expansion in the US should be performed. We had access to highly qualified senior expertise as well as a very motivated GAP team whom presented us with information and analyses relating to how the CRO market in the US is structured, how the medical device market is expected to develop, information relating to price sensitivity and geographic market distribution. This information will directly impact our expansion in the US.

Expected results and effects

The effects of the activities we now have initiated based on the GAP report will likely take at least 12 months to evaluate. However, already at this point, we have been able to fine-tune the efforts we are performing on the US market since we now have data supporting where it makes the most sense to focus the resources on. We have to large extent received support on the earlier planned activities, but we have also received for us new information, which resulted in us discontinuing or modifying earlier planned activities. This is also true for what organizations and forum we are active within.

Planned approach and implementation

Throughout the project, we had weekly meetings with our GAP team. This was important for the execution and quality of the project, as the majority of the GAP team didn´t have previous experience from the med tech area. As our team worked with high intensity and speed, it was important to have a continuous discussion about various questions and be able to make corrections of misunderstandings. We had at the startup of the project allocated significant internal resources, but the time required from the organization cannot be over emphasized, especially when it comes to financial questions.
