Development of medical device for photodynamic therapy of prostate cancer

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project has been to strengthen the company´s expertise in developing a new version of the company´s product - a medical laser system for the treatment of prostate cancer with photodynamic therapy. The project has been successfully implemented both in terms of technical results, and in that valuable skills have been transferred to the company through the competence strengthening that the project grant in part have financed.

Expected results and effects

The project has been a major step towards launching a new medical device based on a new technical platform. In addition, the competence of the development department has been strengthened, within compliance of standards and regulations, and that new valuable contacts in industry have been established.

Planned approach and implementation

The hired expert has worked as sub-project leader for parts of the development project, with regular meetings with consultants, the company´s development team and the overall project manager. The structure has worked efficiently and the results from the project show that the implementation has been successful.
