Development of analytical tool for the pipeline report 2025

Purpose and goal

This project aims to increase the analysis rate of the information SwedenBIO collects from life science companies in Sweden to create the so-called Pipeline report. Specifically, it refers to sorting and structuring data, as well as scripts that create predefined graphs, tables and analyses. The goal is to develop a semi-automated method for handling company data collected 2006-2025 and creating a basic set of graphs and tables.

Expected effects and result

The expected outcome of the project is a method as well as graphs and tables for this year´s pipeline report. In the long term, we expect the project to result in improved visibility for Swedish research in pharmaceuticals, both nationally and internationally. This means that political measures can be implemented where they are most needed and effects can be monitored over time. Visibility also provides increased opportunities for Swedish small companies to establish international collaborations

Planned approach and implementation

- Recruitment of data scientist and consultancy support. - Structuring of historical data (2006-2022). - Development of method that recreates the graphs and tables in the 2023 report. - Collection of new data in 2025. - Application of the method to create graphs and tables for the 2025 report. - Refinement and quality review of the method and this year´s graphs.
