Important results from the project
The purpose was to increase competence and capacity of developers and organizations to create, lead and support conditions for system-wide innovation to manage healthcare challenges. The intention was to contribute to increased organizational competence by bringing together developers in three regions and three municipalities and increasing their ability to use systems thinking and multiple perspectives, combined with knowledge of change and learning processes, of the role of developers, and of prerequisites for, and adaptation of, working methods in such processes.
Expected long term effects
The goal of the learning arena was to contribute to participants reflecting on, integrating, and applying multifaceted development knowledge to work with the challenges of participating organizations. The form, content and pedagogy of the arena was tested and developed to facilitate deep learning and behavioural change. The pandemic provided an opportunity for testing under challenging conditions, creating new solutions. In evaluations the participants described changes and broadening of approaches, explanatory models and working methods.
Approach and implementation
Over 2.5 years, participants from 3 regions and 3 municipalities as well as researchers from 3 universities together conducted 7 digital and 3 physical 2-day workshops and 7 interactive meetings. The arena was intended to create interaction and joint deep learning by using insights from a variety of partially overlapping areas of knowledge and system levels - task, individual, group, organizational and societal level. The intent was to contribute to the multifaceted understanding that is often needed to manage change in complex, multi-level contexts.
