Funding from Vinnova SEK 110 000
Project duration December 2014 - June 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

Organizational and professional practice in the networked society raises the question of how open innovation could become an explicit strategy for hospitals, rather than a reaction to external pressures. The opportunity lies in how communicative practices enable open innovation in healthcare and then how to design and manage these practices. We argue that a not so common, but indeed sensitive to commons approach is needed developing solutions requires collaboration (http://goo.gl/VsR9yd).

Results and expected effects

To better understand practices for designing communication for open innovation in healthcare the project sought to: 1. Engage practitioners and organizations about the practical issues of open innovation strategy in healthcare. 2. Develop theory and method for the design of communication practice for open innovation. 3. Formulate a research agenda for open innovation design practice. 4. Generate a network of international experts focused on the development of design thinking for open innovation in healthcare.
