Purpose and goal

The goal of the project was to create a digital demonstrator solution to integrate Swedish IoT software with existing, energy-intensive installations on Indian properties, such as air conditioning systems. The project´s goals have been met. The big change towards plan, was that the global pandemic meant that the project to a very large extent had to be handled through remote cooperation.

Expected results and effects

By creating a demonstrator that could handle India-specific digital protocols and registers, we were able to achieve the project´s expected results. Interconnection with Indian hardware has been carried out and tests show opportunities to save large amounts of energy through more efficient use of, for example, air conditioning systems. In the coming phases, after the end of the project, the collaboration will continue with Indian partners with a view to developing commercially viable solutions to reduce energy use in Indian properties.

Planned approach and implementation

The main line in the project´s structure and implementation, with parties in both Sweden and India, has been maintained through the project. The major changes have been due to a change in the main counterpart in India, as well as the global pandemic, which has largely made travel and physical meetings impossible. As Xlit has its own staff on site in India, some of the effects of the pandemic have been counteracted. A clear structure regarding digital meetings and follow-ups has made it possible to achieve the desired results despite the current situation.
