Important results from the project

The aim to show how SAAB, using software from Spacemetric and PandionAI, can handle and analyze large amounts of data between platforms and ground stations, was achieved. It is a bit early to say if the goals to give SAAB a competitive edge and increase the companies´ sales via SAAB are met, but SM´s ability to pre-process image data on board and select data for priority download from the ground was further developed and PandionAI has further developed its ability for AI analysis on board.

Expected long term effects

The results have already contributed to an increase in Spacemetics and PandionAI´s competitiveness within the subject area, and this increase is expected to persist in the slightly longer term. The project´s results are expected to strengthen PandionAI´s role as a provider of edge-based AI solutions for real-time analysis in defense and security applications.

Approach and implementation

The project created a process chain for, i.a., on-board image data processing (Spacemetric) and on-board image interpretation (PandionAI). SAAB was continuously kept abreast of the work. The work went well, and the sub-activities contributed well to the end result. The project was largely implemented as planned. No external factors significantly affected the work, apart from orders from "real customers", causing a slight delay. The cooperation between the project parties worked well
