Decontamination wash techniques

Important results from the project

Greater Gothenburg Fire & Rescue Service has tried to find which techniques and actors on the market can solve our needs regarding deconatmination of equipment. The aim is both to examine the procedure and learn from this type of project but also to be able to transfer the approach to other emergency services within Sweden. We have now identified the techniques required regarding decontatmination as well as the actors that can offer the service.

Expected long term effects

The result is a cleaning process for our contaminated materials. The effect is a secured process with a supplier for this service. The effect is also that we have learned to manage the national application process and how to pursue Projects within VINNOVA:s conditions and requirements.

Approach and implementation

The project was set up with an established time schedule and participants on decisionmaking levels. Formulation of demands and needs, a request for information process and a pre-commercial procurement process, includning technological method and in the end a supplier for this service within our region. The result is that the techniques required for this service can be provided by a supplier in our region. Pre-commercial procurement will not be required.
