Important results from the project

Yes, the project successfully met its primary goals. The central objective was to develop advanced visual information panels (dashboards) to enhance traffic management strategies. A key outcome is the functional dashboard prototype. The project ended in a successful demonstration of this prototype to the Swedish Transport Administration. This demonstration showcased the tool´s ability to visualize traffic situations and model potential diversion scenarios on Stockholm´s motorway network.

Expected long term effects

The project is anticipated to have long-term effects on both commercialization and continued research. Specifically, Xtelligent is exploring the establishment of a Swedish subsidiary to adapt and develop these tools for the European market. In the short term, the project partners plan to continue their research collaboration to further refine the data visualization methodologies. The ultimate long-term ambition is to translate these research efforts into a commercially viable product.

Approach and implementation

As the focus of the project has been on the traffic situation and opportunities in Stockholm, LiU/KTH have been responsible for describing this. Xtelligent´s work has, from previous experiences from the development of its platform for traffic management, discussed metrics based on traffic data that can be used in a dashboard, and development of the interface to provide a good overview of the traffic situation. Together we have developed examples of situations for how the dashboard can be used.
