Important results from the project

Goals were achieved through more admitted startups, established seed funds, a launched accelerator, and integrated sustainability work. Beyond this, the project led to other results: greater diversity via idea competitions, new international networks and investor contacts through national and international forums, and co-incubations with leading incubators. Deepened collaboration with academia also boosted idea inflow and raised the region’s innovation capacity.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to strengthen Dalarna’s innovation system long term by fostering more viable and sustainable companies. The established seed funds improve access to capital and increase chances for growth and survival. The circular solutions accelerator supports new business models and a stronger circular economy. Closer ties to academia and diversity initiatives broaden idea flow, raise innovation capacity, and make the region more attractive nationally and internationally.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out as planned, focusing on incubation, funding, sustainability, and accelerator development. Activities such as idea competitions, international networks, and academic partnerships proved relevant and delivered strong results. Despite some resource changes, the timeline was met. New initiatives like Dalarna Startup Arena and co-incubations were added, strengthening outcomes. Partner collaboration worked well and added extra value.
