Purpose and goal

The goal of the project is to enhance the security and robustness of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), whose employment is relevant to sensors and actuators in critical infrastructure, appliances in automated smart buildings, and emergency networks using ad-hoc and satellite communications. To this end, the project will develop novel cybersecurity solutions, products, and international standards.

Expected effects and result

Application areas will be: smart city/building; energy production/distribution and smart grid; automated enrollment/monitoring/management of devices. The novel solutions, products and international standards will be in the technical areas of network & communication security and security management. Demonstrators will be set up to showcase and validate the solutions. Standardization will especially target the IETF. The platforms Applio Sense and Yggio will integrate outcomes and each other´s components.

Planned approach and implementation

Activities will be carried out in different Work Packages. Within the targeted application areas for CPS, we will first elaborate the use cases and define their requirements. Building on that, we will develop novel cybersecurity solutions within the targeted technical areas. Prototypes, testbeds and use-case based demonstrators will be built to showcase and validate the solutions and their interoperation. In parallel, we will work on the open, standardization of the solutions, in order to increase their impact and ensure interoperability.
