Important results from the project

The project´s goal was too practically demonstrate the effect of a theoretical-initiated idea. A number of materials were developed and modified and the concept was verified by a standardized test. The results for the different materials spread between no improvements to the very good performance. However many materials showed very promising properties.

Expected long term effects

The result can be summarized as successful and the goal was achieved. The project has also led to new contacts between LTH, Swerea KIMAB and Alfa Laval since none of the participants have been working together before. Different skills in the field resulted in good results in a very short time.

Approach and implementation

The project was divided into three work packages where the first part included a theoretical study and knowledge transfer as well as a discussion of the requirements and evaluation methods. Part two focused on the development and evaluation of new materials. During the last part the participants discussed the possibility of commercialization. Regular meetings, both physical and telephone meetings, were held during the project.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
