Important results from the project

This project intends to promote collaboration between RISE, Graphensic AB and Measurements International Ltd. The goal is to eventually be able to create commercial products that use electronic components of graphene. Within the project, and a follow-up project that ran in parallel, we succeeded in showing that graphene arrays have potential to create an attractive commercial product that allows industry to perform more accurate resistance calibrations. This has now led to RISE, Graphensic, and Measurements International starting an official commercial collaboration.

Expected long term effects

This preparatory project was expected to strengthen the cooperation between the partners and contribute to planning future projects where we could test prototypes in practice. We have fulfilled all these expectations, and more. This project led to another Vinnova project where we could test our ideas in real-life. The result of that project went beyond expectations and we have therefore already started an official commercial collaboration.

Approach and implementation

The project was set up in such a way that experts from all parties could participate in discussions on how best to proceed with the eventual commercialization of graphene arrays. This quickly led to a plan on how a prototype could be built and tested. These ideas led to a larger Vinnova project being granted. We were thus able to test the prototype in practice and see that it worked well. The project plan and implementation led to both quick and excellent results. This is thanks to the fact that all partners already possess key competencies in the area.
