Purpose and goal
The platform has brought together 50 organisations and individual researchers with expertise in the SwafS areas. Through events and communication, we have collaborated with Swedish and international stakeholders. Swafs.se acts as a national hub for knowledge and information. The platform has had representatives on the EU Commission´s SwafS Advisory Board, in the national reference group for SwafS and been an expert in the NCP network SiS.net. By working in these groups and providing input into public consultations, the platform has promoted Swedish interests in the SwafS program.
Expected results and effects
The platform has run 14 workshops, trainings and presentations about SwafS for stakeholders at national level and for other advocacy platforms. We have held meetings with representatives of the EU Commission, the European Parliament, the Government Offices and participated in meetings of national experts for Horizon 2020. The platform has organised 2 events for policy makers and stakeholders in Brussels together with the NCP network SiS.net to raise awareness of SwafS in Horizon 2020. The platform has responded to five public EU consultations and held 45 strategic meetings.
Planned approach and implementation
The platform´s broad expertise in the SwafS program and active participation in various groups at EU level, together with collaborations with stakeholders from other parts of Horizon 2020, have increased the visibility of SwafS. It has also resulted in amendments to the work program. By working actively both in Sweden and internationally, the platform has become a recognised point of contact and stakeholder, and interest in SwafS at national and European level has increased. The platform´s workshops have also increased Swedish stakeholders’ understanding of the SwafS aspects.
