Important results from the project
The project investigated how a window can be part of the future networked society. The project developed successfully a prototype that was evaluated both commercially and functionally.
Expected long term effects
A functional prototype was developed. It was used to evaluate the technical and commercial possibilities for the product. The project demonstrated the function of a window as part of the networked society. It investigated whether such a product is commercially attractive. The market analysis found that an application for a development project within Bygginnovationen is not of interest.
Approach and implementation
The project investigated production processes, challenges and identified obstacles for a commercialisation of a product release. The prototype development was important for the identification of technical and physical factors concerning material choices and basic properties for a window. Challenges within technical production processes were addressed and it was found that these would not be an obstacle for a product launch.
