Purpose and goal

There is a significant improvement in peak load with feedback from SensiStep compared to no feedback in the entire group of patients. BDA has been developed further with very promising results. The app of BDA has been used in all BDA data collection trials. We have not reach the goal to a predicted and prescribing algorithm yet but there are very interesting insights. Uppsala universitety has started Probingon to be able to convey knowledge and sell health sensors. The consortium is going to continue the further development of Sensistep and BDA based CPS even after the conclusion of Comfort.

Expected results and effects

Sensistep and BDA was not at the same level of development when the project started. Sensistep was more go to the market ready and BDA was in TRL 4 but have during the project it has progressed to TRL 6. Lot has been learned, multiple prototypes have been developed. Lot of interesting data has been generated from measurements with BDA+Ultrasound and measurements with BDA+MicroCT. We have seen a significant increase in peak load of patients with feedback and we are able to distinguish patients rehabilitation plan after just one Sensistep session.

Planned approach and implementation

Clinics in both countries were included for Sensistep and BDA measurements. Inclusion rate of patients was lower than expected, but still an efficient amount of patients has been included. The inclusion criteria worked fine both in both countries. Lower extremity trauma patients are hospitalised for longer term in Holland in comparison with the Swedish process. Included ultrasound measurements on volunteers to evaluate the BDA measurements in clinics. ´The time in the clinics´ as an end parameter was difficult to use because of external reasons influencing discharge date.
