Venture Advanced digitalization - Industrial needs-driven innovation
Call Shared, sustainable and secure AI infrastructure through advanced digitalization

Purpose and goal

COLLINS aims to develop, test, and validate digital twins for next-generation liquid-cooled AI data centers. By combining advanced laboratory testing, simulation, and model calibration, the project will create verified digital representations of cooling components and systems. The objective is to improve design, operation, optimization, and maintenance of energy-efficient, resilient, and future-ready AI infrastructure.

Expected effects and result

The project will deliver validated digital twins, optimization methods, predictive maintenance capabilities, and secure frameworks for sharing digital models. Expected outcomes include reduced energy consumption, lower operating costs, improved resource utilization, and increased reliability in AI data centers. The project will also strengthen the competitiveness of Swedish and European suppliers in cooling technologies and digital twins.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is carried out by industrial companies, research institutes, and universities. Cooling components are tested under controlled laboratory conditions to generate data for developing and validating digital twins. The resulting models are integrated into system-level simulations supporting optimization, virtual commissioning, advanced control strategies, and predictive maintenance for future AI data centers.
