Important results from the project

The aim of the project was to identify what is needed for sustainable stormwater management in development districts through policy innovation, sustainability analysis, standardization, innovation and new business models. The project has delivered what was promised in the application. The work carried out has created a good foundation and identified several focus opportunities to take the next step in the transition towards sustainable management of stormwater in the short and long term.

Expected long term effects

The outcome of the project has been very good. Needs, obstacles and barriers have been identified and it is now clear for participating project partners how a stage 2 project should be implemented to successfully achieve set goals. Interest and commitment to the project has been great. The project is of great relevance and its issues represent a major societal challenge that requires a transdisciplinary collaboration between industries and organizations that are not used to collaborating.

Approach and implementation

The project has been divided into six work packages with clear goals, activities and deliveries. It has been based on a broad and extensive collaboration between need owners, clients, technology suppliers, authorities, certification bodies and academia. To ensure that the work achieves set goals, frequent meetings within the working and reference groups have been carried out. There is a plan for the work at an approved UDI2 and 3 and for how additional partners will be linked to the project.
