Purpose and goal

The purpose is to develop an AI-driven solution that reduces returns in online shoe retail by ensuring the correct fit at the time of purchase. Through advanced 3D modeling and AI, a personalized foot avatar is created and matched to the exact interior measurements of shoes. This will reduce returns, increase customer satisfaction, and promote sustainable consumption patterns. The goal is to ensures a perfect shoe fit remotely, reduces returns, and supports sustainability within e-commerce.

Expected effects and result

A functional prototype of an AI-based system that uses a 3D digital foot avatar matched with the shoe´s exact interior dimensions to ensure the correct fit on the first purchase. The result will be a system tested and verified with customers at Scorett, providing concrete data on reduced returns and increased customer satisfaction. The project’s effects include improved sustainability in e-commerce by reducing the climate impact of returns, fewer shipments, optimized use of packaging resources.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is organized into four work packages with specific tasks and objectives to ensure the effective development and implementation of the solution. Each work package has clearly defined milestones and sub-tasks, allowing for progress tracking and ensuring that all deliverables meet the project’s timeline. By regularly monitoring milestones, the project stays on course toward its overall goals while utilizing resources efficiently and minimizing risks.
