Important results from the project
Sweden has many small, established, unlisted companies (often outside the big cities) that are owner-managed and despite growing and making a positive results, they have difficulties with capital raising or renewing their ownership base. The few advisors in the market are hard to find and the transaction cost to the company is high in terms of both price and required work effort. Norrkap addresses this market with a nationally covering digital platform that smartly optimizes the transaction process at a lower price and increased focus on the UN´s global sustainability goals.
Expected long term effects
The platform is innovative, aesthetically pleasing, and has a functionality that is sought after among many different actors in the market. The platform can in a fundamental way match companies with investors who believe that the goals for Agenda 2030 are important to achieve, in whole or in part, in an investment decision. The response is good and there is great curiosity among respondents to test and evaluate when the platform is launched. The platform is considered a welcome, innovative alternative to an otherwise traditional and slightly backward-looking industry.
Approach and implementation
Extensive interviews with relevant market participants have been conducted in a structured manner. Due to covid-19, this has not happened physically but instead digitally. The meetings have been interesting and helped with the design of the platform and Norrkap´s offer. Through information gathering and conversations with experts in selected areas, the industry´s need for a more sustainable business has been investigated. The platform is well developed from both an aesthetic and functional perspective, giving a good user experience for all parties during a transaction process.
