Purpose and goal
The CIRES project is in line with Sweden´s national strategies to promote innovation, strengthen digital infrastructure and develop sustainable urban environments. The initiative aims to meet the growing challenges of cybersecurity and the reliability of communication networks in an increasingly digitalized society.
Expected effects and result
By focusing on technology development in critical infrastructure and robust communication solutions, with elements of autonomous AI, and applying these technologies in the area of resilient cities, the Swedish partners contribute to the country´s vision of smart, safe and sustainable urban environments. CIRES will strengthen Sweden´s resilience to cyber threats, communication disruptions and natural disasters, ensuring the security and stability of critical infrastructure and essential services.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is implemented in work packages that describe the development process and project areas that coordinate the technical work in focus areas. The work has three technical tracks (embedded AI, resilient communication, and distributed edge-cloud platforms) and three application areas (resilient supply chains, energy, and digital infrastructure). The development is iterative with demonstrators in the different application areas.
