Important results from the project
With support from a Vinnova grant, we coordinated the proposal for the EIC PATHFINDER OPEN on May 12, 2025. The grant helped us to bring together a diverse consortium of 6 partners, including 4 SMEs, 1 university and 2 research organisations. We wrote a competitive proposal to close the loop on hard-to-recycle marine plastic waste .
Expected long term effects
The project is expected to contribute to long-term advances in plastic recycling by exploring new ways to valorize marine plastic waste. If successful, the approach could enable future recycling of currently non-recyclable plastic streams, supporting circularity and sustainability goals.
Approach and implementation
The writing process for the proposal was a collaborative effort involving a multidisciplinary consortium of six partners. We defined roles and responsibilities early, held regular meetings to exchange input and align on key aspects, and ensured that all contributions supported the overall project vision. The proposal was structured around a clear summary, well-defined objectives, a robust methodology, expected impacts, and detailed budget planning to ensure a strong, competitive submission.
