Important results from the project
The project has achieved its goal of building a network of contacts focused on business-related innovation in Japan. A format with clear thematic focus has been established, and a series of "innovation talks" have been held. Additionally, the project has positively contributed to establishing a channel for promoting Sweden´s image as a leader in innovation and a "trusted partner" for collaboration in technology development. It has also facilitated closer exchanges between related organizations.
Expected long term effects
The establishment of innovation talks has a positive network effect that facilitates future contacts and objectives. Positioning and promoting Sweden as an innovation nation is crucial in Japan to raise awareness of Sweden´s potential and increase opportunities for future collaborations.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out in close collaboration with Vinnova and the Office for Innovation and Research at the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo (OSI). It also brought together several Swedish-related stakeholders, including RISE, Swedish companies, and Swedish universities with partnerships in Japan. The corresponding Japanese network was invited. The theme and messaging were developed jointly. A series of Innovation Talks was held throughout the course of the project.
