Purpose and goal
The value in reusing health data is well established but is hampered by uncertainty of what and how data can be shared. The purpose of the project is to concretize how health data can be shared for commercial use in a responsible way, with the goal of opening new business opportunities through efficient sharing of refined health data.
Expected effects and result
Great potential for improved care through reuse of health data has been demonstrated in individual research projects, but to reach a wider impact, commercial investments are needed. The project’s focus on business opportunities and competitiveness of Swedish industry is expected to contribute to a higher quality of care for the individual patient and increase efficiency of care chains, with good possibilities to disseminate the results and experiences.
Planned approach and implementation
The project focuses on policy development for healthcare providers on how to share data in a responsible way. Furthermore, business opportunities for healthcare-data-platform companies and companies developing data-driven tools are investigated. In parallel, methods will be developed based on the latest AI technology to refine healthcare documentation into data collections for efficient reuse.
