Important results from the project
The goal of the project was to -Make aware that broadband community services put new more strict requirements especially related to security. -Develop the requirements both for the system environment in the home and for the passive infrastructure. -Implement the home environment, both the functional part and the different security mechanism in order to meet the requirements. Verify this with a number of applications in the e-health area. -Create a meeting place for the actors in the project The project has met these goals both regarding the requirements and the verification
Expected long term effects
The project has developed a generic system architecture for the home environment. It covers different segments as e-health, energy, safeness and comfort. The system environment and the partners who have contributed are now the core in new more application oriented projects. At the same time several of these companies have done commercial deals with each others to enter this market, even the international one as Sweden is leading in this area. Common solutions will be shown at the HGI conference where all big operators participate
Approach and implementation
The project started with defining the system architecture and to create a number of applications in the e-health area to put requirements on the architecture. At the same time work was done in the passive infrastructure field, i.e. home and property network. A number of security mechanism were implemented and tested in PC as no home gateway with enough performance was available at that time. The last phase of the project was to implement the mechanism in the gateway and verify the applications
