Important results from the project

The pilot project has laid the foundation for a national effort on a cluster of excellence in molecular life sciences, data and AI for the precision medicine of the future. Through collaboration between universities, university hospitals, research infrastructures, authorities and industry, a common vision has been developed. The initiative aims to strengthen Sweden´s position as an international leader in precision medicine, diagnostics and AI-based tools in healthcare by 2035.

Expected long term effects

The initiative is expected to have a significant long-term impact on healthcare, research and innovation in Sweden. It will enable earlier diagnoses, more precise treatments and improved patient outcomes. The cluster will strengthen collaboration between academia, healthcare and industry, accelerate the transfer of research to clinical practice and thereby increase Sweden´s attractiveness for international investments, clinical trials and innovation in life sciences.

Approach and implementation

This project has been implemented according to plan. The national scope of the project has meant that working groups have met both digitally and physically. Central actors were identified early, meetings have been prioritized by all parties thanks to a strong commitment and a shared belief in the vision. All the elements required for Sweden to become an international leader in the development of precision medicine, diagnostics and AI tools by 2035 were present and have now been brought together.
