Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** We proposed new strategies to prevent cold-induced chills in awake patients to improve clinical results after stroke through its unique anti-shake function and high temperature control precision to minimize brain damage after stroke. The consortium successfully developed and preclinical validated the unique anti-shake and BrainTemp unit, based on BrainCool´s patented medical refrigeration technology, and will validate the concept in the clinical environment in the US and Europe.
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Effect on patients: BrainSave reduced the incidence and severity of brain injuries associated with stroke. Improved patient outcomes and reduced burden on the family: Cooling contributed to improving the quality of life for patients and their families.
Approach and implementation
To deliver BrainSDave, the consortium took the following steps An innovative anti-shivering system was discovered To ensure proper targeted temperature management, a new generation of brain temperature sensors was developed. It is integrated into the entire system in the BrainCool system via SW The system is now linked to a very user-friendly software system on the temperature control panel, which can be easily connected to other patient monitoring devices. The BrainSave concept will be clinically tested in a first-in-human study after the COVID restriction.
