Purpose and goal

The purpose of ARV 2014 is to establish the collaboration platform which was the result of the first phase (Apr 2013 - Apr 2014). Focus is on areas of non-competitive nature where two or more partners have an interest in pre-studies, research or collaboration with external parties. The target is to maintain a leading international position for Swedish industry in the area of Automated Vehicles (AV) with focus on a number of specific areas and to stay updated on other more general areas already covered by on-going international projects and research activities.

Results and expected effects

The ARV 2014 project has performed a number of internal workshops and steering group meetings facilitating an open and constructive dialogue around areas of interest for the project partners. State-of-Art research has resulted in a basic Wiki which will be further developed in 2015. During 2014 a number of disseminations have been offered to a wider audience and the interest for these sessions has been very good. ARV is now established as one important forum in the area of AVs.

Approach and implementation

Work builds on the results from the Phase 1. Progress has been built on a number of workshops, seminars and steering group meetings. The active workgroup has between sessions summarized results and prepared for coming activities. Focus areas may vary over time depending on developments in the research community. Present focus for the project is on the quantification of effects from AVs, the interaction between AVs and other road users and pedestrians, IT/system integrity and the required adaptations of the physical infrastructure in the roads to facilitate the introduction of AVs.
