Important results from the project

BioInnovation decided to continue the pilot project BioLyftet in 2020. BioLyftet is aimed at SMEs, which use unsustainable materials in their products, to practically begin the transition to bio-based, recycled and recyclable materials. In 2020, seven breakfast meetings were held as well as training and workshop days linked to five locations, with good results and a high number of participants. Due to pandemic restrictions most activities were carried out digitally. The participants´ perception of BioLyftet was nevertheless very good, which was shown by a survey.

Expected long term effects

The results of BioLyftet 2020 are 7 completed breakfast meetings 10 completed training days, aimed at different geografical locations. The expected effects in the short term are increased competence among participating companies about sustainable materials. Sustainable materials are equated here with bio-based, recycled and recyclable materials. In the medium- to long term, the increased competence will be able to contribute to a transition from fossil-based to sustainable materials in companies´ products.

Approach and implementation

The focus of BioLyftet 2020 has been to provide physical inspiration seminars and training days with workshops for participating companies and in collaboration with actors at various geografical locations. Most of the activities were carried out digitally due to pandemic restrictions however, and a planned in-depth day has been postponed. The participants´ perception of BioLyftet was nevertheless very good, as shown by a survey.
