Biocomposites in furniture and interior products

Purpose and goal

The need for industrially applied research in injection molded biocomposites has been analyzed. A group of interested companies has been contacted to start a collaboration. A draft application has begun.

Expected results and effects

Unfortunately, the project did not result in any application for a Bioinnovation subproject, as some of the companies chose to withdraw with the motivation that the project´s focus was too close to their operations. The work in this pilot study will instead be used to write a new project application with fewer partners and less budget.

Planned approach and implementation

Companies with an interest in biocomposites have been contacted at workshops organized by Bioinnovation as well as via telephone and video meetings.
